STUDIO AND BUILDING UPDATEwork was completed on phase one of the renovations to the first of two historic mill buildings the mural building including plumbing, bathroom stalls and fixtures, fire alarm systems, hvac, internet and lighting. artwork began coming out of storage and moved to the mural building to prepare for installation. finishing touches to those mural segments occurred, and actual installation took place during three session during the year. by the end of 2019 installation of the mural onto the specially built armature was approximately 35% complete.

EDUCATION PROGRAMSthere was further work done in developing, piloting, and establishing our education program offerings for work with k-12 students. as a result, we completed the all-school mural program at renzulli school in hartford and conducted one at roxbury school in stamford and one at hals school in new britain. amp also partnered with asap (after school art program) and the warner theatre for the ultimate collaboration serving children in the torrington public schools. amp piloted our first field trips with thomlinson school, rotella school and renzulli school. we also piloted amp song-writing after school at cornwall consolidated school. amp implemented our second summer enrichment programs over a five-week period which engaged young people age 617 in art, music, design, building, and gardening. we also continued the after-school art and music sessions in partnership with the winchester public schools champs program.

WORKER-IN-TRAINING (WIT) PROGRAMSamp ran its third summer of the digital storytelling internship program. four interns worked with amps teaching artist and had the opportunity to interview, film, edit, and collaborate on a student driven promotional video supporting summer @amp. the interns also began work on a segment featuring kathy reddy, a mural subject, through interviews and filming. additionally, the worker-in-training program engaged arts educator interns to assist amp teaching artists for the champs after-school program and the summer @amp programs. we also engaged interns in our community engagement work, resulting in our participation in the laurel and pet parades.
