THE PROFESSIONAL FEMINIST ORGANIZATION IS DEDICATED TO: (1) ENCOURAGE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIOLOGICAL FEMINIST THEORY AND SCHOLARSHIP; (2) PROMOTE FEMINIST LEADERSHIP, CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND INSTITUTIONAL DIVERSITY, (3) ACTIVIST CAMPAIGNS AT LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVELS; AND (4) SUPPORT PUBLICATION AND DISSEMINATION OF FEMINIST SOCIAL SCIENCE.

Hosted a winter meeting and a summer meeting where participants networked and presented their research. Provide mentoring opportunities throughout the year at meetings and through our listserv. Assist individuals who are facing discrimination in their institutional settings through letters of support and mentoring. Provide scholarships and support for individuals who are doing gender-related work and research. Support the journal, "Gender & Society", that publishes research on gender-related issues. Send delegates to the "United Nations Commission on the Status of Women" to advocate on behalf of gender-related issues that impact women.
