Organizations Filed Purposes: OUR MISSION IS TO RUN A WORLD-CLASS URBAN PARK IN THE HEART OF STAMFORD THAT SERVES AS BOTH AN OASIS IN CITY LIFE AND A VIBRANT, DIVERSE, GREEN-SPACE THAT INSPIRES SOUND ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES AND LEARNING.

THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO MANAGE AND RAISE FUNDS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT, OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE OF THE MILL RIVER PARK AND OTHER OPEN SPACE PROJECTS WITHIN THE CITY OF STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT.

OUTREACH AND EDUCATION1) HOSTED 12 SUMMER STEWARDS AND 10 HIGH SCHOOL STEWARDS, ALL ARE PAID HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. THE STEWARDS LEARNED ABOUT URBAN ECOLOGY AND NATURAL LANDSCAPE STEWARDSHIP WHILE RECEIVING JOB READINESS SKILLS INCLUDING RESUME WRITING, TAKING JOB INTERVIEWS AND ONLINE JOB SEARCHING, AS WELL AS AN INTRODUCTION TO PERSONAL BANKING.2) HOSTED 1,105 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDING OVER 3,200 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE3) COMPLETED 2018 SUMMER PROGRAM SEASON ATTENDED BY THOUSANDS OF RESIDENTS FOR ZUMBA, YOGA, MOVIE NIGHT, AND WEEKLY CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT AT THE PLAYGROUND, CAROUSEL, AND OTHER LOCATIONS4) COMPLETED 2018-2019 SKATING SEASON ATTENDED BY TENS OF THOUSANDS OF SKATERS 5) PARTNERING WITH SEVEN STAMFORD PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND PROVIDED EXPERIENTIAL SCIENCE PROJECTS IN THE STATE SCIENCE CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE 4TH GRADE STUDENTS, DEVELOPED LESSON MODULES TO EXPAND THE PROGRAM TO OTHER ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS6) LAUNCHED THE FIRST SUMMER CAMP AT THE PARK SERVING LOCAL CHILDREN GRADES KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 8TH.
