Organizations Filed Purposes:
To recognize and encourage the study of suicide and suicide prevention and promote suicidology as a science and promote life saving services.
Grants and Subcontractors - Development of trainings for Law Enforcement under the Institute for Intergovernmental Research and those working with the military through the National Center for Veterans Studies.
Conferences - In an effort to provide on-going state of the art education and training to mental health practitioners, AAS sponsors an annual conference in April. Practitioners participate in various activities to enhance their knowledge.
Membership - AAS serves approximately 1,348 members per year and provides members and the general public with the educational materials as well as access to to resources in suicide prevention including continuing education and certification.
