ABA IS A VOLUNTARY TRADE ASSOCIATION DESIGNED TO REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF THE WHOLESALE BAKING INDUSTRY--BOTH ON A NATIONAL AND STATE LEVEL. ABA IS COMMITTED TO BEING AN ORGANIZATION WHOSE POLICIES AND ACTIONS ARE FORMULATED AND DIRECTED BY ITS MEMBERS AND TO THOSE ACTIONS THAT FOSTER THE INCREASED CONSUMPTION OF BAKED GOODS AND PROVIDES CONSUMERS WITH INFORMATION ON THE NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS OF SUCH CONSUMPTION AS PART OF THE TOTAL DAILY DIET. ABA IS DEDICATED TO THE PRINCIPLES OF FREE ENTERPRISE, COMPETITION AND THE ECONOMIC HEALTH OF THE ENTIRE FOOD INDUSTRY, AND FUNCTIONS PRIMARILY IN THE AREAS OF GOVERNMENT RELATIONS (FEDERAL AND STATE), INDUSTRY RELATIONS, COMMUNICATIONS, CONVENTIONS AND MEETINGS. ABA ENCOURAGES MEMBERSHIP INVOLVEMENT IN ALL PHASES OF ITS ACTIVITIES AND RECOGNIZES THAT MEMBERSHIP INVOLVEMENT IS ESSENTIAL TO THE SUCCESSFUL ACHIEVEMENT OF ITS GOALS. ABA WILL CONTINUE TO STRIVE FOR BROAD INDUSTRY PARTICIPATION IN ALL OF ITS ACTIVITIES.

THE AMERICAN BAKERS ASSOCIATION TACKLES KEY ISSUES FACING THE GRAIN-BASED FOODS INDUSTRY EITHER BY INITIATING POSITIVE POLICY CHANGES TO PROVIDE MORE OPPORTUNITIES OR BY PROTECTING THE INDUSTRY FROM MISGUIDED POLICIES DETRIMENTAL TO BUSINESS. ABA FOCUSES ON SEVERAL KEY AREAS THAT DIRECTLY IMPACT THE BOTTOM LINE IN THE PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE INDUSTRY'S PRODUCTS. THEY INCLUDE COMMODITIES AND TRADE, LOGISTICS, ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY, ENERGY, FOOD TECHNICAL, SAFETY, HUMAN RESOURCES AND MARKETING.
THE AMERICAN BAKERS ASSOCATION PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ABA MEMBERS TO NETWORK AND EXCHANGE INFORMATION AND IDEAS THROUGH THE ANNUAL CONVENTION.
