Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS (APSIA) COMPRISES 65+ MEMBER SCHOOLS AND AFFILIATE PROGRAMS AROUND THE WORLD DEDICATED TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS. APSIA MEMBERS WORK TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN PROFESSIONAL, INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS EDUCATION WORLDWIDE BY SHARING INFORMATION AND IDEAS AMONG MEMBER SCHOOLS AND WITH OTHER HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS, THE INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS COMMUNITY, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
APSIA IS DEDICATED TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS.
APSIA CONVENED ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVES FROM 23 MEMBER SCHOOLS DURING ITS MEETINGS IN DC IN JUNE AND SEPTEMBER 2019. APSIA HELD ITS ANNUAL CAREER DIRECTORS MEETING IN DC IN JUNE 2019, WHICH ATTRACTED ATTENDEES REPRESENTING 23 MEMBER SCHOOLS. APSIA ALSO BROUGHT TOGETHER COMMUNICATIONS, ALUMNI RELATIONS, AND DEVELOPMENT STAFF FROM 17 MEMBER SCHOOLS IN DC FOR AN IN-PERSON MEETING. IT SUPPORTED EMPLOYER RELATIONS STAFF IN THEIR EFFORTS TO REACH OUT TO EMPLOYERS IN THE PUBLIC, PRIVATE, AND NON-PROFIT SECTORS IN DC IN JUNE 2019. IT ALSO HOSTED A RECEPTION TO CONNECT EMPLOYERS, STUDENTS, AND ALUMNI IN DC IN JUNE 2019. IN JANUARY 2020, APSIA HOSTED A MEETING IN PARIS, FRANCE FOR DEANS/DIRECTORS FROM 57 REPRESENTATIVES FROM 47 SCHOOLS IN 15 COUNTRIES. THE MEETING INCLUDED DISCUSSIONS OF INNOVATION, FACULTY DIVERSITY, AND FUNDRAISING. APSIA SUPPORTED ADMISSIONS-RELATED OUTREACH IN FALL 2019 IN ATLANTA, NEW YORK, SEOUL, SINGAPORE, TOKYO, TORONTO, WASHINGTON DC, AND ONLINE. TRIPS INCLUDED INFORMATION SESSIONS WITH STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND ADMINISTRATORS, MEETINGS WITH GOVERNMENT AND NGO OFFICES, A FAIR FOR STUDENTS, AND AN ALUMNI RECEPTION.APSIA ALSO PARTICIPATED IN NUMEROUS OUTREACH EFFORTS TO EXPAND UNDERSTANDING OF THE NEED FOR INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS EDUCATION, INCLUDING IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO REACH OUT TO STUDENTS, ACADEMIC ADVISORS, FACULTY, AND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS. FROM JUNE 1, 2019 - MAY 31, 2020, APSIA CONDUCTED PROGRAMS AIMED AT COMMUNITIES TRADITIONALLY UNDERREPRESENTED IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS.
