COMMUNICATIONS: The Network Engagement Group inspires and gathers the change-makers in identified sectors and finds ways for them to engage effectively with the Carbon War Room.The team assembles the disruptive innovators that will engineer the transition to a low-carbon economy at speed and scale. Additionally, the Network Engagement Group operates as a bridge between opportunity identification and active operations. The main focus of the team is to eliminate market failures and accelerate private capital for climate change solutions.
Research: The research and intelligence group works to identify opportunities that have cost-negative, billion ton scale carbon reduction potential over the next 10 years. The primary audience is the investment community, entrepreneurs, NGO's, and policymakers. Carbon War Room has identified 17 sub-sectors across seven sectors. Each sector accounts for over 1 billion tons (or more than 2%) of global core emissions annually. These sectors encompass the full spectrum of challenges that must be met to implement a low carbon economy.
Islands Operation: The goal of the Islands Operation is to accelerate the transition of Caribbean island economies from a heavy dependence on fossil fuels to renewable resources. The operation aims to address the barriers and identify technical and commercial solutions to facilitate low-carbon energy use in the Caribbean.
