IN 2019, CPEACE DESIGNED AND LED SEVERAL CONSERVATION CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION (CCT) CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOPS, INCLUDING TWO WEEK-LONG FUNDAMENTALS WORKSHOPS, ONE WEEK-LONG ADVANCED CCT WORKSHOP AND MULTIPLE SHORTER WORKSHOPS, INCLUDING ONE CONDUCTED ONLINE. PARTICIPANTS INCLUDED PROFESSIONALS AND LEADERS FROM SEVERAL STATES ACROSS THE US, AS WELL AS PARTICIPANTS FROM ACROSS SEVERAL CONTINENTS, INCLUDING AUSTRALIA, ASIA, AFRICA AND NORTH AMERICA.

CPEACE ALSO BEGAN A LARGE-SCALE INTERVENTION IN WASHINGTON STATE INVOLVING THREE STATE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, THREE FEDERAL AGENCIES, DOZENS OF NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBAL NATIONS, DOZENS OF LARGE AND SMALL TIMBER LANDOWNERS AND MULTIPLE ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERS. IN ADDITION, CPEACE CONDUCTED CONFLICT ASSESSMENTS FOR TWO ADDITIONAL CASES IN HAWAII REGARDING CONFLICT OVER MONK SEALS AND WHALES AND, IN COLORADO REGARDING CONFLICT OVER WOLVES. CPEACE ALSO SUPPORTED LOCAL EFFORTS IN MASSACHUSETTS TO ADDRESS COMMUNITY CONFLICT WITH GREAT WHITE SHARKS AND LED A STRATEGIC GUIDANCE SESSION TO ADDRESS COMMUNITY CONFLICT OVER ELEPHANTS IN AN EAST AFRICAN COUNTRY.

ADDITIONAL PRIORITIES FOR THE YEAR INCLUDED A FOCUS ON ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY. CPEACE EXPANDED THE VISIBILITY OF OUR MISSION AND DIVERSIFIED FUNDING BEYOND FEE-FOR-SERVICE ACTIVITIES WHICH HELPED EXPAND OUR IMPACT AMONG PROFESSIONALS ACROSS AFRICA AND ASIA. STAFF CONDUCTED OUTREACH AND CAPACITY-BUILDING AT MULTIPLE CONSERVATION AND PEACEBUILDING CONFERENCES AND SUPPORTED OUTREACH FOR A DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT WILDLIFE PEACEBUILDING. CPEACE RECRUITED THREE NEW BOARD MEMBERS, EMBARKED ON A 5-YEAR STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS, AND HIRED THE ORGANIZATION'S FIRST APPRENTICE. CPEACE ALSO CONTRACTED WITH A SPECIALIST WHO HELPED ADVANCE OUR MONITORING AND EVALUATION WORK, AND HOSTED A MONITORING AND EVALUATION WORKSHOP WITH THE GOAL OF CONTRIBUTING TO THE FIELD'S ADVANCEMENT AND MAINTAINING A HIGH STANDARD OF PRACTICE FOR CCT PRACTITIONERS.
