EDUCATION (INCLUDES WORKFORCE PLANNING): CEWD EDUCATION SOLUTIONS FOR SECONDARY AND POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN 2019 INCLUDING THE GET INTO ENERGY TEST PREP, ENERGY INDUSTRY FUNDAMENTALS, ENERGY CAREER EDUCATION PATHWAYS AND FRAMEWORKS FOR THE 17TH ENERGY CAREER CLUSTERS AT THE STATE LEVEL. CEWD PROVIDED SIGNIFICANT STRATEGIC WORKFORCE PLANNING SUPPORT BY CEWD STAFF TO INDIVIDUALS, MEMBER COMPANIES, AND STATE ENERGY WORKFORCE CONSORTIA TO IDENTIFY GAPS AND OPPORTUNITIES IN THEIR WORKFORCE EFFORTS AND TO PROVIDE TARGETED SOLUTIONS AND RESOURCES.CEWD COMPLETED THE 2019 GAPS IN THE ENERGY WORKFORCE SURVEY. THE SURVEY RESULTS PROVIDE A NATIONAL, REGIONAL AND STATE VIEW OF THE WORKFORCE AND THE DEMAND FOR FUTURE EMPLOYEES. THE NATIONAL ENERGY EDUCATION NETWORK NOW INCLUDES MORE THAN 240 EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS REPRESENTING NEARLY 400 ENERGY PROGRAMS. THE CEWD STRATEGIC WORKFORCE PLANNING MODEL WAS COMPLETELY REVISED IN 2019 TO INCLUDE ADVANCES IN CEWD PROCESSES INCLUDING THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK AND MEASURING PROGRESS METRICS.THERE ARE NOW 76 ACTIVE ENERGY INDUSTRY FUNDAMENTALS (EIF) APPROVED COURSE PROVIDERS. FROM INCEPTION TO DATE, 3,745 STUDENTS HAVE TAKEN THE ASSESSMENT AND 2,707 CREDENTIALS HAVE BEEN AWARDED. SIXTY-TWO COMPANIES PARTICIPATED IN THE 2019 GAPS IN THE ENERGY WORKFORCE SURVEY, REPRESENTING ABOUT 67% OF THE TOTAL ELECTRIC AND NATURAL GAS INDUSTRY.

MEMBER VALUE AND SUPPORT:CEWD INCLUDED ADDITIONAL ON-LINE RESOURCES FOR DIVERSITY & INCLUSION IN THE D & I NATIONAL TEMPLATE AND VOLUME 2 OF THE MAKING THE CONNECTION TO A DIVERSE, QUALIFIED WORKFORCE MEMBER SHOWCASE.CEWD ADDED ADDITIONAL MEMBER FOCUSED COMMUNICATION PIECES FOR TROOPS TO ENERGY JOBS, QUARTERLY GOALS UPDATES FOR MEMBERS, AND A CEWD PRIMER FOR COMPANIES UNFAMILIAR WITH CEWD.CEWD PROVIDED SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUAL MEMBER COMPANIES AS WELL AS EXISTING AND NEW STATE ENERGY WORKFORCE CONSORTIA. THESE CONSORTIA ARE THE BOOTS ON THE GROUND FOR IMPLEMENTING MANY OF THE BEST PRACTICES THAT ARE IMPROVING THE RETURN ON WORKFORCE EFFORTS. MEMBER COMPANIES PARTICIPATED IN NUMEROUS COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE, WEBINARS AND FACE TO FACE MEETINGS TO SHARE BEST PRACTICES AND SOLUTIONS THAT WORK.OVER 175 ENERGY WORKFORCE PRACTITIONERS ATTENDED THE 14TH CEWD ANNUAL SUMMIT TO DISCUSS WAYS THAT ENERGY COMPANIES CAN IMPROVE THEIR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES IN ADDITION TO ALMOST 200 MEMBERS ATTENDING REGIONAL MEETINGS.

CAREER AWARENESS:CEWD AND ITS MEMBERS ENGAGED IN A WIDE VARIETY OF CAREER AWARENESS ACTIVITIES IN 2019. CAREER AWARENESS ACTIVITIES ARE AIMED AT FIVE KEY DEMOGRAPHICS: YOUTH, LOW INCOME STUDENTS, WOMEN, VETERANS, AND TRANSITIONING WORKERS. STATES ACROSS THE COUNTRY CELEBRATED CAREERS IN ENERGY WEEK WITH ACTIVITIES SUCH AS STATE PROCLAMATIONS, OPEN HOUSES, TOURS, VIDEO CONTESTS, EVENTS ON MILITARY BASES, AND SOCIAL MEDIA. CEWD PROVIDED RESOURCES FOR MEMBERS TO USE, INCLUDING POSTERS AND BROCHURES, ALONG WITH SOCIAL MEDIA, AS WELL AS AN INTERACTIVE MAP ON THE CEWD SITE TO KEEP UP WITH ALL THE ACTIVITIES: HTTP://WWW.CEWD.ORG/STATE-CONSORTIA/.THE CEWD "I GOT INTO ENERGY" CAMPAIGN WAS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE VETERANS AND ENGINEERS TO PROVIDE MEMBERS WITH ADDITIONAL RESOURCES FOR PROMOTING JOBS IN THE ENERGY INDUSTRY.TROOPS TO ENERGY JOBS EXPANDED ITS REACH THROUGH ADDITIONAL ALLIANCES AND PARTNERSHIPS. THE TROOPS NATIONAL TEMPLATE UNDERWENT A COMPLETE REVISION TO PROVIDE MORE RELEVANT RESOURCES AND UPDATED MATERIAL FOR MEMBER COMPANIES.GET INTO ENERGY JOBS: STUDENTS AND JOBSEEKERS CAN ACCESS REAL-TIME JOB POSTINGS FROM CEWD MEMBERS ON THE GET INTO ENERGY JOBS SITE, GETINTOENERGY.JOBS. ALL JOBS FROM MEMBER COMPANIES ARE POSTED NIGHTLY AND CAN BE FILTERED BASED ON LOCATION, JOB TITLE, OR KEY WORDS.TROOPS TO ENERGY JOBS: THE COMPANION JOB POSTING SITE FOR TROOPS TO ENERGY JOBS HAD AN ADDITIONAL 23,000 VISITS WITH 15% OF VISITORS CLICKING THROUGH TO CEWD MEMBER COMPANY JOBS SITES.
