Organizations Filed Purposes: THE PRIMARY GOAL IS TO SEEK PASSAGE OF FEDERAL AND STATE LEGISLATION TO INCREASE TRUCK WEIGHT LIMITS ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

THE PRIMARY ACTIVITY WAS TO ADVANCE LEGISLATION IN KEY STATES, SUCH AS TEXAS, THAT WOULD IMPROVE TRUCKING PRODUCTIVITY THROUGH VEHICLE WEIGHT REFORM.

CTP DEVELOPED A STRONG COALITION OF INTERESTS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS WHO WORKED TO ADVANCE THE DEVELOPMENT OF STATE LEVEL LEGISLATION TO INCREASE TRUCK WEIGHT LIMITS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

CTP WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEGISLATIVE CHAMPIONS IN BOTH THE TEXAS HOUSE AND SENATE, WHO WERE POISED TO INTRODUCE THIS LEGISLATION DURING THE 2017 LEGISLATIVE SESSION.

TO ADVANCE THE TEXAS PROJECT, CTP COMMISSIONED A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF THE IMPACT OF POTENTIAL TRUCK WEIGHT REFORM ON TEXAS PORTS.
