Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance is to prevent the occurrence of colon and rectal cancer and support the nearly 50,000 afflicted with this disease each year. This is achieved by supporting preventative measures, funding research, and providing patient support services.
The Colorectal Cancer Alliance seeks to increase awareness about the importance of early detection and survivorship issues through a variety of awareness events, screening events and educational material.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: THE COLON CANCER ALLIANCE CHAPTERS GIVE ADVOCATES AN OPPORTUNITY TO USE THEIR VOICE TO HELP THE ALLIANCE TO SUCCEED IN ITS MISSION. THE CHAPTERS SERVE AS LIAISONS TO THE ALLIANCE'S NATIONAL OFFICE AND LEAD COLORECTAL CANCER EFFORTS IN THEIR COMMUNITY.
The Colorectal Cancer Alliance Patient Support program provides a helpline, an online community forum, a buddy system, and financial assistance to those afflicted with colorectal cancer; additionally an annual conference is arranged for the newly diagnosed, long-term survivors, caregeivers and advocates.
