Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF THE COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP IS TO ENSURE THE CAUSES AND CONDITIONS OF POVERTY ARE EFFECTIVELY ADDRESSED AND TO STRENGTHEN, PROMOTE, REPRESENT, AND SERVE THE COMMUNITY ACTION NETWORK.

TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: THE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE DEPARTMENT PROVIDES SUPPORT TO COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCIES IN SERVING LOW INCOME FAMILIES AND ADDRESSING THE CAUSES OF POVERTY IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES. THROUGH THE PARTNERSHIP, AGENCIES ARE ABLE TO OBTAIN TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAMS THEY OPERATE. THE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IS FUNDED THROUGH OSCOE, LCRC, AND HCCT.THROUGH THE ORGANIZATIONAL STANDARDS CENTER OF EXCELLENCE (OSCOE) PROJECT, THE PARTNERSHIP DESIGNED, COORDINATED, AND MAINTAINED A COMPREHENSIVE SET OF ORGANIZATIONAL STANDARDS FOR COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCIES. CAP ALSO DEVELOPED TOOLS AND RESOURCES FOR AGENCIES AND STATES TO ASSIST WITH ORGANIZATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE STANDARDS.THE LEARNING COMMUNITIES RESOURCE CENTER (LCRC) IS A HUB FOR AGENCIES TO SHARE INNOVATIVE APPROACHES AND ACCESS PROVEN STRATEGIES TO MOVE FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES FORWARD. THE LEARNING COMMUNITY CONSISTS OF A CADRE OF AGENCIES THAT ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON A PROGRAM OR SERVICE DELIVERY STRATEGY RELATED TO SPECIFIC ANTI-POVERTY FOCUS AREAS. LEARNING COMMUNITY MEMBERS MEET EITHER VIRTUALLY OR IN PERSON AND ASSIST EACH OTHER BY: O DISCUSSING WHAT WORKSO SHARING DATA FINDINGSO SOLVING PROBLEMSO OFFERING SUPPORT FOR IMPLEMENTING NEW IDEAS, UNMET NEEDS, NEW ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS, OR PROVING THAT A STRATEGY WORKS.THE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE ON HUMAN CAPACITY & COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION (HCCT COE) PROVIDED NATIONAL COORDINATION FOR A T/TA INITIATIVE TO IDENTIFY, HIGHLIGHT, AND SUPPORT MULTI-YEAR COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION EFFORTS THAT MOVE INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES TOWARDS IMPROVING HUMAN CAPACITY, REDUCING DEPENDENCY AND SUSTAINING SELF-SUFFICIENCY.

ANNUAL CONVENTION: THE ANNUAL MEETING (BUSINESS MEETING) OF THE MEMBERSHIP IS CONVENED DURING THIS CONVENTION. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 90 TRAINING SESSIONS AT THIS 5-DAY CONVENTION INCLUDING A GENERAL OPENING SESSION AND A GENERAL CLOSING SESSION. THE MEMBERS ATTENDED TRAINING TRACKS WHICH INCLUDE EMERGING LEADERS, ENERGY AND WEATHERIZATION, AGENCY GOVERNANCE, HEAD START/EDUCATION, HOUSING, LEADERSHIP, COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, JOB CREATION, MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND RISK MANAGEMENT.

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES: THIS DEPARTMENT PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR MEMBER AGENCIES SUCH AS RESEARCH ON POVERTY, ACCESS TO LIFELINE SERVICES, DISCOUNT BUSINESS SERVICES, AND COMMUNICATION TOOLS AND RESOURCES. IN ADDITION, THE DEPARTMENT PROVIDES PRESENTATIONS ON POVERTY AND THE IMPACT OF COMMUNITY ACTION AT CONFERENCES AND OTHER EVENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
