The Council provides a forum for expanding and deepening interchange between the American and Italian business communities on issues of mutual interest.
Organized the Councils annual Young Leaders Conference, with assistance from the Italian counterpart group, which was held in Boston on September 21-23, 2017. It brought together about 50 Americans, Italians, and other country professionals under age 40 to discuss The Changing Nature of Work and its Implications for Individuals, Businesses and Society/Politics. This involved selecting half of the participants, making all the logistical arrangements, inviting the outside speakers, and participating in preparing the conference discussion themes and reading list.
Assisted the Italian counterpart group in organizing the Councils major event of the year, the annual Workshop in Venice, Italy, on June 16-17, 2017. The Workshop, attended by the Councils American and Italian members and guests, consisted of presentations and discussions on current economic and political issues, mainly relating to Europe and transatlantic relations, of interest to the business audience. In particular, the Council participated in developing the program and identifying and inviting the American speakers.
