Organizations Filed Purposes:
The District of Columbia Arts Center serves the Washington DC area by presenting high caliber and challenging works. It encourages professionalism among artists by providing a forum for educational and cultural exchange. DCAC was founded in 1989.
In 2019 we presented 16 visual art exhibitions, over 250 performances by 17 different performing groups, facilitated our two signature visual arts programs, produced 5 color exhibition catalogs, and one annual fundraising event. We engaged with two major collaborations: one with the performance artists Sherman Fleming and Holly Bass and the other with DC Public Library Special Collections division. Additionally, we were invited to participate in the Arts Innovation and Management program funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies. Executive management attended four seminars with Arts professionals on topics ranging from marketing, social media, fundraising and strategizing a financial future.
