Organizations Filed Purposes: THE EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP FOUNDATION'S (EOF'S) PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS THAT WILL INCREASE THE LEVEL OF AWARENESS AND APPRECIATION OF THE BENEFITS OF EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP AND INCREASE THE NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE ACCESS TO THIS BENEFIT.

THE FOUNDATION'S PRIMARY GRANTS IN 2019 WERE TO THE RUTGERS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT AND LABOR RELATION'S FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM TO MEMBERS OF FACULTIES IN INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING, TO CANDIDATES FOR DOCTORATES AT INSTITUTIONS FOR HIGHER LEARNING, AND TO PROMINENT RESEARCHERS AFFILIATED WITH PROMINENT "THINK TANKS" - THE FELLOWS RECEIVING GRANTS FROM THE FOUNDATION ARE REFERRED TO AS "KELSO" FELLOWS - THE FELLOWS USE THEIR FELLOWSHIP GRANTS TO RESEARCH AND WRITE ON VARIOUS IMPACTS OF EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP ON CORPORATIONS AND EMPLOYEES; THE FOUNDATION ALSO GRANTS THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR OPINION RESEARCH, BASED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO, ONE EIGHTH IN 2019 OF THE COSTS FOR SPECIAL QUESTIONS ON U.S. CITIZENS ABOUT OWNING STOCK IN THE CORPORATIONS WHERE THEY WORK IN THE GENERAL SOCIAL SURVEY 2019 QUADRENNIAL SURVEY OF U.S. NON-MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES. THE FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO UP TO 12 NON-EXECUTIVE EMPLOYEES OF CORPORATIONS THAT SPONSOR AN EMPLOYEE STOCK OWNERSHIP PLAN FOR THE COSTS OF ATTENDING A CONFERENCE THAT HAS EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS ON EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP BEST PRACTICES.

THE FOUNDATION SPONSORS TWO SPECIALIZED MEETINGS UNIQUE TO EMPLOYEE OWNED COMPANIES. THE FIRST IS A CERTIFICATE PROGRAM CO-SPONSORED WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA'S SCHOOL OF SOCIAL POLICY AND PRACTICE FOR CEO'S AND CEO-DESIGNEES OF EMPLOYEE OWNED COMPANIES. THE PROGRAM INVOLVES 9 DAYS OVER TWO WEEKS OF CLASSROOM WORK LED BY FACULTY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA, AND WITH SESSIONS LED BY PROMINENT FACULTY MEMBERS OF OTHER MAJOR ACADEMIC UNIVERSITIES LOCATED IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE U.S. THE SECOND SPECIAL MEETING IS FOR NON-EXECUTIVE EMPLOYEES OF EMPLOYEE OWNED COMPANIES TO ATTEND A RETREAT TO BECOME EDUCATED AND HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT BEING AN EMPLOYEE OWNER IN A CORPORATION MEANS. THE FACULTY FOR THIS PROGRAM IS FROM THE RETREAT CO-SPONSOR KENT STATE UNIVERSITY'S CENTER FOR EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP.
