WE UNITE, LEAD AND GROW THE ENDOCRINE COMMUNITY TO ACCELERATE SCIENTIFIC BREAKTHROUGHS AND IMPROVE HEALTH WORLDWIDE.
EDUCATION, PROGRAMS, AND MEETINGS: THE ENDOCRINE SOCIETY PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR RESEARCHERS AND MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS TO INCREASE THE UNDERSTANDING OF BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INTO ENDOCRINE DISORDERS AND THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH ENDOCRINE-RELATED MEDICAL CONDITIONS. ES IS ACCREDITED BY THE ACCREDITATION COUNCIL FOR CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION (ACCME) AND ALL CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE DEVELOPED IN STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH ACCME STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS. EACH YEAR ES HOLDS A FOUR-DAY EDUCATIONAL MEETING (ENDO) FOCUSED ON THE BROAD FIELD OF ENDOCRINOLOGY. EACH ATTENDEE MAY EARN UP TO 32.5 CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION CREDITS FOR THE CORE EDUCATION CURRICULUM.
PUBLICATIONS: ES PUBLICATIONS ENGAGE IN THREE AREAS OF ACTIVITY:1. JOURNALS: ES PUBLISHES FOUR PEER-REVIEWED SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS. THE JOURNALS FURTHER THE UNDERSTANDING OF BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INTO ENDOCRINE DISORDERS AND THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS. THREE OF THE JOURNALS ARE PUBLISHED MONTHLY; THE OTHER IS PUBLISHED BI-MONTHLY. THE JOURNALS PUBLISH MORE THAN 1,000 ARTICLES A YEAR. OVER 4,000 ES MEMBERS DONATE TIME DURING THE YEAR TO THE PEER REVIEW PROCESS. ES ALSO PUBLISHES REFERENCE BOOKS FOR PHYSICIANS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, AND LICENSES THE DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS FOR ITS JOURNALS, BOOKS, AND OTHER CONTENT TO THIRD PARTIES WORLDWIDE.2. BOOKS: ES PUBLISHES REFERENCE BOOKS FOR PHYSICIANS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS WANTING A SELF- ASSESSMENT AND BROAD REVIEW OF ALL AREAS OF ENDOCRINOLOGY, DIABETES, AND METABOLISM, AS WELL AS THE LATEST UPDATES IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT OF A WIDE RANGE OF ENDOCRINE DISORDERS. 3. LICENSING: ES LICENSES THE DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS FOR ITS JOURNALS, BOOKS, AND OTHER CONTENT TO THIRD PARTIES WORLDWIDE.
GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS: ES IDENTIFIES ISSUES AND PUBLIC POLICY OBJECTIVES IMPORTANT TO THE PROFESSIONAL LIVES OF ITS MEMBERS AND ADVOCATES ON THEIR BEHALF TO FEDERAL POLICY MAKERS. THIS ADVOCACY TAKES SEVERAL FORMS INCLUDING COMMENTS TO FEDERAL AGENCIES, DEVELOPMENT OF POSITION STATEMENTS, AND DIRECT LOBBYING.THE SOCIETY ALSO REPRESENTS ITS MEMBERS' INTERESTS THROUGH PARTICIPATION WITH OTHER GROUPS AND COALITIONS, SUCH AS THE AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION (AMA) AND THE FEDERATION OF AMERICAN SOCIETIES OF EXPERIMENTAL BIOLOGY (FASEB)
