Borrower Risk Assessment with Cash Flow Data: The Organization examines data from participating companies that provide various credit products to consumers and businesses using underwriting models that rely on cash-flow data. The information is used to assess the predictiveness of the cash flow scores and other metrics, the extent to which the companies extend credit to underserved populations, and whether use of the data created potential fair lending risks. Customer Onboarding/Identity/Know Your Customer: Within the organization's broader research into the challenges and opportunities for addressing financial inclusion goals, the organization is fousing on data and technology solutions to address the financial sector's requirements to verify the identities of customers, which is a legal requirement known as "Know your Customer" under the Bank Secrecy Act. This work generally includes reviews of technology and data solutions that could be studied to identify more effective methods to verify the identities of underserved persons and small businesses. the work specifically entails interviews with technology vendors, reviews of academic and news publications, summaries of secondary research and speeches and other public engagement.
