The mission of FRIENDS OF GEORGETOWN is to preserve and maintain the historic integrity of the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington DC, while enhancing its current cultural and economic vibrancy.
During fiscal year ended September 30, 2020, FRIENDS OF GEORGETOWN Organization, in furtherance of its goals to promote, coordinate, and maintain improvements in the cultural, economic, and qualities of the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC, the Organization provided virtual technical training to small business owners, organized virtual promotions, and conducted a grant program to provide emergency financial relief to seventy-seven small businesses. The Organization facilitated the installation of a trash compactor for a small business. The Organization provided timely and relevant information to help businesses respond to COVID-19 Pandemic. In furtherance of its goals to promote the environmental qualities of the neighborhood, the Organization commissioned five faux botanical installations within the service corridor and organized a campaign to paint the plywood covering storefront facades following the summer protests.
