Organizations Filed Purposes:
Girls Gotta Run Foundation (GGRF) is the only non-profit in Ethiopia using the national sport of running as an innovative approach to creating safe spaces, ending the practice of child marriage, and expanding access to secondary school for vulnerable adolescent girls.
Girls Gotta Run invests in Ethiopian girls (and their mothers) who use running and education to empower themselves and their communities in Ethiopia.
GGRF programs focus on four key investment strategies for girls and their mothers: education, running for leadership, life skills and savings and entrepreneurship. Girls Gotta Run worked with 275 girls and women in 2020, impacting the lives of 1,100 people across two Ethiopian communities - Bekoji and Soddo. Grants of $45,539 were made to our partner organization, Abba Pascal Girls' School for 115 girls and women in Soddo. Grants of $42,505 were made to our partner organization Siqqee Women's Development Association for 160 girls and women in Bekoji.
