THE FESTIVAL WORKED WITH DOZENS OF PARTNERS TO BRING PUBLIC ART INSTALLATIONS, PROGRAMMING, HIGH PROFILE SPEAKERS, A REGIONAL ART FAIR AND PERFORMANCE TO EVERY QUADRANT OF THE CITY, FOCUSING ON THE THEMES OF LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. THE FESTIVAL RECEIVED 38,000 VISITS TO OFFICIAL BY THE PEOPLE FESTIVAL EVENTS, OVER 50,000 VISITS TO SMITHSONIAN MUSEUMS AND A LOCAL ECONOMIC IMPACT OF OVER $2.6 MILLION.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE - THE HALCYON INCUBATOR IS COMMITTED TO SOLVING 21ST-CENTURY CHALLENGES THROUGHOUT THE NATION AND THE WORLD. BY HELPING SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS TRANSFORM AUDACIOUS IDEAS INTO SCALABLE AND SUSTAINABLE VENTURES, THE HALCYON INCUBATOR ACTS AS A CATALYST FOR MEASURABLE SOCIAL OUTCOMES. DURING THIS 18-MONTH FELLOWSHIP, FELLOWS RECEIVE FREE RESIDENCY AND WORKSPACE, MENTORSHIP AND LEADERSHIP COACHING, ROBUST SUPPORT FROM BUSINESS CONSULTANTS, AND A LIVING STIPEND TO DEVELOP THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL VISION INTO REALITY. SINCE INCEPTION, THE SOCIAL ENTERPRISE PROGRAM HAS MADE THE FOLLOWING IMPACT THROUGH THE HALCYON INCUBATOR: - 84 SOCIAL ENTERPRISE VENTURES SUPPORTED- 103M+ RAISED BY HALCYON INCUBATOR VENTURES- 53% VENTURES WITH A WOMAN FOUNDER OR CO-FOUNDER- 1,092 JOBS CREATED BY HALCYON INCUBATOR VENTURES- 66% VENTURES WITH A FOUNDER OF COLOR- 1.112M LIVES IMPACTED GLOBALLY THROUGH INCUBATOR VENTURES.

HALCYON ARTS LAB - HALCYON ARTS LAB IS A FULLY-FUNDED RESIDENTIAL FELLOWSHIP FOR SOCIALLY-DRIVEN ARTISTS IN WASHINGTON, DC. EIGHT EMERGING ARTISTS WORKING IN DIVERSE DISCIPLINES FROM CHOREOGRAPHY TO SPOKEN WORD TO VISUAL ARTS ARE OFFERED RESIDENCY, STUDIO SPACE, FINANCIAL STIPEND AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. IN 2019, EIGHT ARTISTS WERE IN RESIDENCE FOR 9 MONTHS, AND IN 2020, A SHIFT TO TWO 5-MONTH COHORTS WILL ALLOW FOR MORE ARTISTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM ON AN ANNUAL BASIS. OVER THE COURSE OF RESIDENCY ARTISTS ENGAGE WITH LOCAL CURATORS, ACTIVISTS, ARTISTS AND PRACTITIONERS TO ADVANCE THEIR PRACTICES AND TACKLE ISSUES INCLUDING ECONOMIC INEQUALITY, SYSTEMIC RACISM, SOCIO-POLITICAL UPHEAVAL, INDIGENOUS INCARCERATION, AND OTHER CONTEMPORARY SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES.
