HOT'S TEAM IN INDONESIA MAPPED NEARLY EVERY ROAD SEGMENT IN INDONESIA USING AI ASSISTED LEARNING. IN TURKEY, THE TEAM MAPPED OVER 48,000 KM OF ROADS IN 2019, AS WELL AS ADDING OVER 2,000 KM OF HIGH-QUALITY STREET-LEVEL IMAGERY (TAKEN WITH DASHCAMS DONATED BY MAPILLARY). IN LIBERIA, HOT MAPPED THREE MAJOR CITIES, PROVIDING THE PUBLIC WITH THE INFORMATION THEY NEED TO FIND BASIC LOCAL SERVICES, AND ENABLE OFFICIALS TO SUPPORT THEIR CITIZENS DURING DISASTERS.

TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION: HOT PRACTICES CONTINUOUS INNOVATION TO PROVIDE THE LATEST WEB AND MOBILE PHONE-BASED, FREE AND OPEN SOURCE TOOLS FOR OPEN MAPPING. IN 2019, HOT'S TECH TEAM HAS BEEN WORKING WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING TO IMPROVE MAPPING, AS WELL AS IMPROVING OUR TOOLS TO MAKE THEM AS USER-CENTERED AS POSSIBLE FOR OUR COMMUNITY. HOT CARRIED OUT A USER-CENTERED DESIGN PROCESS FOR MAPCAMPAIGNER, DESIGNING NEW FEATURES TO MOVE MAPCAMPAIGNER FROM BEING A PROGRESS TRACKING AND QUALITY MONITORING TOOL TO AN END-TO-END MAPPING CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT PLATFORM. HOT ALSO DEVELOPED A NEW, IMPROVED EXPORT TOOL TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR USERS TO SELECT AND DOWNLOAD OPENSTREETMAP DATA, WHATEVER THEIR NEEDS OR EXPERIENCE.

COMMUNITY: HOT'S COMMUNITY TEAM SUPPORTS OPENSTREETMAP COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD VIA MICROGRANTS AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT. IN 2019, HOT FUNDED EIGHT LOCAL COMMUNITIES, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF MICROGRANTS WE'VE SUPPORTED TO 39. HOT ALSO STARTED OUR FIRST GENDER PROJECT, WOMENCONNECT, SUPPORTING WOMEN AND GIRLS IN PERU, TANZANIA, AND ZAMBIA.
