Organizations Filed Purposes:
To provide advanced education and training to professionals in the toll industry on the many aspects of designing, building, operating and maintaining a user financed transportation facility
Leadership Academy - The Academy is to be held annually to train the next generation of leaders and managers in the growing worldwide toll industry to perform their jobs effectively and serve the public interest. The Foundation also provides ongoing training and networking opportunities for Academy alumni throughout their careers.
Service Project - In conjunction with an educational meeting hosted by a related organization, International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association, the Foundation performs an annual service project to assist the community. This year's project was in Norfolk,VA. We worked with Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads to improve access to their facility and safety for visitors and workers.
Scholarship program - Through a competitive selection process IBTTA Foundation provides college scholarships to undergraduates working towards a transportation-related degree at an accredited university. In 2019 the Foundation provided five $5,000 scholarships. Fundraising events provided much of the funding for this program
