POSTSECDATA 2.0: WE CONTINUED THE MOMENTUM OF THE POSTSECDATA COLLABORATIVE THROUGH IMPACTFUL RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY EFFORTS AND ENGAGEMENT WITH POLICYMAKERS, INSTITUTIONS, AND OTHER KEY PARTNERS. THROUGHOUT 2019, WE MAINTAINED MONTHLY COLLABORATIVE MEETINGS, CONVENED INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATIVES AT THE INTERACTIVE POLICY SUMMIT IN MINNEAPOLIS, MN, RELEASED A REPORT ON DATA USE IN ACCREDITATION, AND GAVE FEEDBACK TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND OTHER FEDERAL AGENCIES ABOUT WAYS TO IMPROVE OR ADJUST FEDERAL DATA COLLECTIONS AND USE DATA FOR POLICYMAKING.
GATES VALUE COMMISSION: IN 2019, IHEP RECEIVED A CONTRACT FROM THE BILL & MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION TO SERVE AS MANAGING PARTNER OF THE POSTSECONDARY VALUE COMMISSION INTENDED TO PROVIDE THE FIELD WITH A DEFINITION OF POSTSECONDARY VALUE AS WELL AS AN ACCOMPANYING MEASUREMENT FRAMEWORK AND ADVOCACY/POLICY/COMMUNICATIONS AGENDA. IN THIS ROLE, IHEP HAS HELPED FORM BOTH THE VALUE COMMISSION, COMPRISED OF THOUGHT LEADERS AND EXPERTS IN THE POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION, BUSINESS, AND CIVIL RIGHTS COMMUNITIES, AND THE RESEARCH TASK FORCE, COMPRISED OF EXPERT RESEARCHERS FROM THE POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION FIELD.
ASCENDIUM (PREVIOUSLY GREAT LAKES) HIGHER EDUCATION IN PRISON: IN 2019, IHEP CONTINUED A RESEARCH INITIATIVE TO DEVELOP A KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS) FRAMEWORK THAT WILL HELP HIGHER EDUCATION IN PRISON (HEP) PRACTITIONERS ASSESS THE IMPACT OF PROGRAMS AND PROCESSES. THE FINAL FRAMEWORK IS INFORMED BY AN ADVISORY COUNCIL COMPOSED OF HEP PRACTITIONERS, RESEARCHERS, AND ADVOCATES COMMITTED TO DEVELOPING A COMMON SET OF INDICATORS THAT DETAIL THE IMPACT OF POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION ON RE-ENTRY OUTCOMES.
