Organizations Filed Purposes: LearnServe international equips high school students from diverse backgrounds with the entrepreneurial vision, tenacity, confidence and leadership skills needed to tackle social challenges at home and abroad.

LSI is an educational program for students and teachers focusing on social entrepreneurship and global leadership training and service learning trips to developing nations.

LearnServe Fellows Program the 9-month Fellows Program trains students in social entrepreneurship. Students design social ventures social action projects and pitch them to community professionals. Successful proposals may win matching seed grants up to $200 toward implementation. The Fellows program shifted to virtual programming in March 2020, with a virtual capstone event in April 2020. In the financial year ending June 30, 2020, 55 students participated in the Fellows Program, representing 22 DC metropolitan area schools, and pitching 37 ventures to 108 reviewers. During 2019-20, we continued the Incubator program supporting the implementation of Fellows Ventures as year 2 program with their final pitch event held in February 2020. 23 students from 12 DC metropolitan area schools completed that program.

LearnServe Abroad Program LearnServe had to cancel that Abroad Program 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic that made international travel impossible. LearnServe shifted to a virtual international exchange program that was implemented in July 2020.

General Programs includes Seeding Social Innovation, the in-school social entrepreneurship program, and all initiatives to develop new programs. In 2019-20, Seeding Social Innovation reached 75 students from 4 DC area schools or after-school programs. In response to the pandemic, LearnServe conducted a one-day hackathon for high school students in April 2020, with design challenges related to the effects of the pandemic. 36 students from 20 schools participated in the hackathon.
