DEMOCRACY POLITICS AND CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION PROJECTIN 2019, MBBI RECEIVED A GRANT FROM CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION FUND (CTF) TO HELP SUPPORT CTF'S MISSION TO INVEST IN PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENTS BY GENERATING INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND STRATEGIES TO EXPAND CONFLICT LITERACY AND BUILD CONFLICT RESILIENCE BOTH AT THE GRASSROOTS AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEVELS WITHIN THIS MOVEMENT.AS PART OF THE PROGRAM, MBBI - DEMOCRACY POLITICS AND CONFLICT ENGAGEMENT PROJECT (D-PACE) WORKED TO CONVENE PROFESSIONALS WITH CONFLICT LITERACY EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE TO DESIGN A FRAMEWORK/MODEL AND RECOMMEND A SUITE OF SERVICES, TOOLKITS, MATERIALS, AND RESOURCES. BUILDING THIS FRAMEWORK FOR PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENTS IS AN INVESTMENT IN CONFLICT LITERACY AS IT WILL HELP BRING STRATEGIC AND COMPREHENSIVE APPROACHES AND RESOURCES INTO VIEW. PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENTS CAN BEGIN TO INVEST THEMSELVES IN THE NOTION THAT CONFLICT LITERACY CAN BE CONSTRUCTIVE, GENERATIVE, AND HELP THEM BETTER ACHIEVE THEIR MISSION. BY DEVELOPING THIS FRAMEWORK/MODEL OF SERVICES AND SUPPORT, D-PACT OFFERS AN ALTERNATIVE AND DEEPLY DEMOCRATIC SOCIALLY PROGRESSIVE APPROACH TO SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, ENVIRONMENTAL AND POLITICAL CONFLICTS WHILE FOCUSING ON THE CHRONIC AND SYSTEMIC SOURCES OF CONFLICTS.
