(30 PARTICIPANTS) THE BJM GRANT PROGRAM AWARDED 15 TRAVEL AND RESEARCH GRANTS TO SCHOLARS OF ANY NATIONALITY TO CONDUCT RESEARCH ON THE INDIGENOUS SOCIETIES OF SOUTH AMERICA, "BOTH PAST AND PRESENT". BY PRESTIGIOUS SCHOLARS FROM LATIN AMERICA, NORTH AMERICA, AND EUROPE. THE BOOK EXPLORES THE EDGES OF THE EARLY MODERN SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE EMPIRES WHETHER DEFINED BY GEOGRAPHY, POLITICAL OR ECONOMIC CONCERNS, OR THE ETHNIC AND CULTURAL DIVIDES OF THE DIVERSE POPULATIONS UNDER THESE IMPERIAL DOMAINS.
