MEMRI "bridges the language gap" between the Middle East and the West by monitoring, translating, and analyzing the media of the region, offering direct access to primary source material in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, and Pashtu. It translates content from the entire spectrum of political, ideological, cultural, and other vital spheres, informing governments, legislatures, and law enforcement and assisting them in carrying out their missions, and also informing media, academia, and the public at large. MEMRI research averaging 20 reports every week is disseminated daily by email to over 100,000 subscribers, with more subscribing every day, and is available free of charge on MEMRI websites: MEMRI.org, MEMRI publishes its research in English and other major languages. MEMRI's main website, MEMRI.org, as well as its websites for its various projects, receive millions of hits every year. These websites include: MEMRI TV, Iran Studies Project, Cyber and Jihad Lab, Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM) Project, Reform Project, Antisemitism Documentation Project, Russian Media Studies Project, and the South Asia Studies Project. MEMRI conducts briefings and provides its research to federal agencies that focus on foreign policy, counterterrorism, and more, including the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Justice, and State; the FBI; the Library of Congress, and many more. Other agencies using MEMRI research are the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Department of Commerce, the U.S. Secret Service, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the U.S. Capitol Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), and the United States Attorney's Office, among others. MEMRI research is also used in Congressional hearings on issues related to the Middle East, counterterrorism, and other vital issues.Since its founding in 1997, MEMRI has been an integral research tool for the U.S. military.
