THE EFFORT HAS MAJOR POTENTIAL TO SUPPORT OR CATALYZE NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADVOCACY, AND DEEPEN AND PROVIDE STRUCTURE TO THE NETWORK'S SUPPORT TO ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING. IN 2019 WE CONVENED WORKING GROUPS TO SYNTHESIZE EXISTING RESEARCH AND EVIDENCE ON LEGAL EMPOWERMENT ACROSS 4 KEY ISSUES: IMPACT, PROGRAM METHODS, RELATIONSHIP TO THE STATE, AND SCALE AND SUSTAINABILITY. IN ADDITION, NAMATI PROGRAM TEAMS ENGAGED IN COMPARATIVE LEARNING ON EMPOWERMENT AND LAND AND ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE WITH AN EYE TO DEEPENING OUR OWN IMPACT AND SHARING KNOWLEDGE WITH THE BROADER FIELD.ADVOCACY: 2019 ALSO SAW INCREASED MOMENTUM IN THE JUSTICE FOR ALL CAMPAIGN -- A FORUM FOR COLLABORATION ACROSS DIVERSE STAKEHOLDERS TO GALVANIZE POLICY ADVOCACY TOWARDS INCREASED FINANCING AND PROTECTION FOR GRASSROOTS JUSTICE DEFENDERS -- LEADING TO INCREASED NATIONAL GOVERNMENT COMMITMENTS IN SUPPORTING THE CAMPAIGN GOALS.
