FORUM: THE ANNUAL FORUM IS NAWB'S PREMIER EVENT WHERE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS AND LEADERS IN BUSINESS, GOVERNMENT, LABOR, AND EDUCATION GATHER TO GAIN INSIGHT INTO THE CURRENT STATE OF OUR NATION'S WORKFORCE SYSTEM, AND CONSIDER THE GOALS AND POLICY FRAMEWORK AFFECTING THE FUTURE OF HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT. THE ANNUAL FORUM IS HELD IN WASHINGTON, DC EACH YEAR OVER FOUR DAYS FOR A NATIONAL CONVERSATION AROUND THE SHARED RESPONSIBILITY TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF REGIONAL ECONOMIES BY STRENGTHENING THE ABILITY OF AMERICAN BUSINESSES AND CAREER SEEKERS TO COMPETE IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY.IN 2020, IN RESPOND TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, NAWB TRANSITIONED THE FORUM TO A VIRTUAL EVENT AND WELCOMED NEARLY 1,000 ATTENDEES AND CONTRIBUTORS, INCLUDING PRIVATE SECTOR BOARD MEMBERS, NON-PROFIT AND GOVERNMENT BOARD MEMBERS, STATE AND LOCAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD (WDB) DIRECTORS AND STAFF, AND ADDITIONAL ATTENDEES JOINING FROM EDUCATION, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, AND OTHER COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS.

MEMBER SERVICES: NAWB TAKES GREAT PRIDE IN CULTIVATING PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH ALL OF THEIR MEMBERS, WHILE WORKING CLOSELY WITH THEIR STRATEGIC PARTNERS TO PROVIDE THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES THE MEMBERS NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL. THESE TOOLS, RESOURCES, AND COMMUNICATIONS INCLUDE WEEKLY ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS, PODCASTS, PEER-TO-PEER LEARNING PLATFORMS, JOB PLATFORMS, ONLINE TOOLKITS AND PUBLICATIONS, AND COMPLIMENTARY REGULAR WEBINARS ON TOPICS OF INTEREST TO WDBS.

WORKFORCE PROGRAMS: NAWB PROVIDES ITS EXPERTISE ON NATIONAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS FUNDED BY PARTNERS IN GOVERNMENT, BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY, AND FOUNDATIONS. THESE PROGRAMS ALLOW NAWB TO ADVANCE THE WORK OF THE PUBLIC WORKFORCE SYSTEM AND BROADEN THE IMPACT, TO INCREASE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF WORKFORCE PROGRAMS, AND TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS ACROSS THE NATION. KEY PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES INCLUDE: ENCOURAGING TWO-GEN WORKFORCE STRATEGIES, H1B AMERICA'S PROMISE, ADVANCING APPRENTICESHIPS, INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS, AND INCREASING KNOWLEDGE OF FEDERAL POLICYMAKERS THROUGH WORKFORCE 101 INSTITUTE.
