THE FOUNDATION RAISES NATIONAL AWARENESS ABOUT THE HIGH SCHOOL COMPLETION CRISIS AND IMPACT ON OUR NATION'S YOUTH, ECONOMY AND NATIONAL SECURITY. OUR EFFORTS ARE PRIMARILY DIRECTED TO DEVELOPING, SUPPORTING AND ENHANCING THE NATIONAL GUARD YOUTH CHALLENGE PROGRAM AS A SOLUTION.
THE NGYF SUPPORTS THE NATIONAL GUARD YOUTH CHALLENGE PROGRAM (NGYCP) AND ADVOCATES ON ITS BEHALF. JOINTLY FUNDED BY THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENTS, NGYCP PROVIDES A 17-MONTH RIGOROUS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM, INCLUDING A 22-WEEK LONG RESIDENTIAL PHASE, FOR HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUTS. PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE ACADEMIC TRAINING LEADING TO CREDIT RECOVERY, A GED, OR A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA AS WELL AS EXTENSIVE TRAINING IN LEADERSHIP AND LIFE SKILLS.THE FOUNDATION'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PROGRAM INCLUDE RAISING NATIONAL AWARENESS ABOUT THE HIGH SCHOOL COMPLETION CRISIS AND THE NATIONAL GUARD YOUTH CHALLENGE SOLUTION; ADVOCATING TO STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS FOR FUNDING AND SUPPORT, IN COORDINATION WITH STATE FOUNDATIONS; SOLICITING PARTNERS TO ENHANCE QUALITY AND POST-GRADUATION PERFORMANCE; AND ENSURING MEASUREMENT OF THE PROGRAM'S IMPACT, EFFECTIVENESS AND COST/BENEFIT RETURN-ON-INVESTMENT.
AWARENESS AND ADVOCACY: NGYF EXECUTES AN ONGOING CAMPAIGN THROUGH LOCAL AND NATIONAL EVENTS TO MAKE THE PUBLIC AWARE OF THE DROPOUT PROBLEM AND THE SUCCESS CHALLENGE IS EXPERIENCING IN COMBATING THE ISSUE. THIS INCLUDES PROVIDING GUIDANCE ON SOCIAL MEDIA, ENGAGING LOCAL AND NATIONAL MEDIA, AND MAKING SURE LAWMAKERS AND DECISION MAKERS ARE AWARE OF THE BENEFITS OF THE PROGRAM. THIS ALSO INCLUDES AN ANNUAL EVENT IN THE WASHINGTON, DC AREA RECOGNIZING AND REWARDING SUCCESSES THROUGHOUT THE NGYF PROGRAMS.

CAREER READINESS AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES BRING TOGETHER A NETWORK OF SUPPORTING ORGANIZATIONS AND PARTNERS THAT PROVIDES SKILLS TRAINING, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, JOB PLACEMENT, SCHOLARSHIP FUNDING AND ACCESS TO TECHNICAL PROGRAMS DIRECTLY TO CHALLENGE GRADUATES TO PREPARE THEM TO MEET THE GROWING DEMANDS OF THE WORKFORCE.
