THE WASHINGTON HISTORY SEMINAR IS A WEEKLY HISTORY SEMINAR SPONSORED JOINTLY BY THE NATIONAL HISTORY CENTER AND THE WOODROW WILSON INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR SCHOLARS. IT AIMS TO FACILITATE THE UNDERSTANDING OF CONTEMPORARY AFFAIRS IN LIGHT OF HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE OF ALL TIMES AND PLACES, AND FROM MULTIPLE PERSPECTIVES. The Center's Congressional Briefings program aims to provide members of Congress and their staff with the historical background needed to understand the context of current legislative concerns. It does so by bringing leading historians to Capitol Hill four times per year to provide non-partisan briefings on past events and policies that shape the issues facing Congress today.
