Ocean Conservancy is working to protect the ocean from today's greatest global challenges.

Science, policy and outreach: Ocean Conservancy uses the best available knowledge, science, public opinion polling and political science to inform our conservation, advocacy and outreach to advance conservation solutions that benefit the ocean and the people and communities that depend on it. Truly durable conservation solutions are possible when we have a foundation of justice and equity across our conservation, advocacy and outreach priorities and that real leadership and durable conservation change requires meaningful partnerships with citizens, businesses, scientists, decision-makers and governments - at the local, state, national and international level. We reach our members, supporters, partners and the ocean and coastal-concerned through our website, email, direct mail, social media, reporter outreach, and our

Marine ecosystem protection: Ocean Conservancy works at the local, state, federal and international level to advance conservation solutions, using the best available science and community knowledge, to protect ecosystems and the communities that depend on them. We advance protections for culturally and ecologically important Arctic ecosystems, working in partnership with Indigenous communities. We work at the regional, national and international level to rebuild ecologically important fisheries, partnering with fishermen and local communities to advance durable protections through meaningful, innovative approaches to management and policy outcomes in the face of the biodiversity and climate crisis.

Trash Free Seas: Ocean Conservancy empowers citizens, businesses, governments and NGOs at the local, state, national and international level to reduce the global plastic footprint and to stop the flow of 11 million tons of trash and plastic flowing into the ocean annually. We implement and organize the International Coastal Cleanup, one of the largest single day volunteer events on behalf of the ocean, responsible for preventing and removing more than 300 million pounds of trash and plastic from our ocean, coasts and waterways, and engaging millions of volunteers on behalf of the ocean. We partner with cities and municipalities to implement innovative ocean plastic reduction efforts and are spearheading an ocean plastic river capture project in Vietnam. We work with and enable the private sector, through our Trash Free Seas
