IN THE UNITED STATES, MORE THAN 100 OF ONE'S MOST IMPACTFUL U.S. SUPPORTERS CAME TO WASHINGTON, DC TO RECEIVE TRAINING AND EDUCATION ABOUT THE GLOBAL FUND AND THE IMPORTANCE OF FIGHTING AIDS, TB AND MALARIA.
CAMPAIGN FOR REAL AID: IN FEBRUARY ONE IN THE UK LAUNCHED THE UK "REAL AID INDEX," TO EDUCATE THE MEDIA, PUBLIC AND POLICY MAKERS ABOUT HOW EACH UK DEPARTMENT THAT SPENDS MORE THAN 100 MILLION OF AID AND THEIR TOP THREE TO FIVE PROGRAMS, AGAINST THE THREE CORE PRINCIPLES OF THE REAL AID CHARTER: POVERTY FOCUS, EFFECTIVENESS AND TRANSPARENCY. THE LAUNCH WAS COVERED IN HIGH-PROFILE MEDIA OUTLETS INCLUDING THE GUARDIAN, DEVEX AND THE TIMES RED BOX. THIS NEW TOOL WILL HELP HOLD THE GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST EXTREME POVERTY. IN GERMANY, ONE'S YOUTH AMBASSADORS, ARMED WITH ONE'S BETTER AID SCORECARDS, ENGAGED IN THE PARLIAMENTARY BUDGET PROCESS FOR 2020 - PINPOINTING WEAK SPOTS IN GERMAN DEVELOPMENT FINANCING. THE SCORECARDS WERE CREATED BY ONE TO ASSESS THE 21 BIGGEST DONORS ON THEIR AID VOLUME, AID TARGETING, AND AID QUALITY TO GIVE A SNAPSHOT OF HOW WELL THE WORLD IS DOING.

FROM LATE SUMMER THROUGH FALL, AND IN SUPPORT OF THE GLOBAL FUND'S SIXTH REPLENISHMENT CONFERENCE IN LYON, FRANCE, THE PAINT (RED) SAVE LIVES CAMPAIGN BROUGHT TOGETHER A NUMBER OF THE WORLD'S LEADING STREET ARTISTS TO CREATE ART IN CITIES ACROSS THE GLOBE, AND ON SNAPCHAT, TO FOCUS POLITICAL AND PUBLIC ATTENTION ON THE NEED TO ADEQUATELY FUND THE FIGHT OVER THE COMING THREE YEARS.
