FIELD & OUTREACH: TO ASSIST POPULATION CONNECTION ACTION FUND ACTIVISTS NATIONWIDE IN BUILDING AND SUSTAINING STATE AND LOCAL EDUCATIONAL, MEDIA AND LOBBYING EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF POPULATION CONNECTION ACTION FUND THROUGH ORGANIZING AND PROVIDING TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND FUNDING. REPRESENT POPULATION CONNECTION ACTION FUND IN COALITIONS FOCUSED ON GRASSROOTS ACTION AND AT PUBLIC PRESENTATIONS AND EXHIBITIONS AS NEEDED. TO PUT PRESSURE ON ELECTED OFFICIALS AND CANDIDATES FOR OFFICE TO SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL FAMILY PLANNING, AND TO WORK TO ELECT CANDIDATES WHO WILL ADVANCE PRO INTERNATIONAL FAMILY PLANNING AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH POLICY ONCE IN OFFICE.GREW OUR #FIGHT4HER CAMPAIGN SIGNIFICANTLY THROUGH GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING AND ACTION IN 9 STATES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. OVER THE PAST THREE YEARS WE HAVE ENGAGED OVER 60,000 INDIVIDUALS. AFTER WE MADE THE SWITCH TO ALL VIRTUAL ORGANIZING, DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE BEGAN HOSTING MONTHLY NATIONAL VOLUNTEER CALLS TO ENGAGE OUR DONORS AND ACTIVISTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ON RELEVANT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS ISSUES. TOPICS COVERED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR INCLUDED REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE, CONVERSATION WITH STATE AND FEDERAL ELECTED OFFICIALS, THE IMPACT OF THE GLOBAL GAG RULE AROUND THE WORLD, AND ENGAGING IN THE POLITICAL PROCESS. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WE HOSTED 7 CALLS, WITH A TOTAL OF 590 PARTICIPANTS ATTENDING. WE ALSO ORGANIZED SEVERAL INSTAGRAM "TOWN HALLS" WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS, WHICH OVER 549 PEOPLE ATTENDED.ENGAGED 1,075 ACTIVISTS FROM ACROSS THE U.S. DURING OUR VIRTUAL CAPITOL HILL DAYS ADVOCACY WEEKEND, THROUGH A DIGITAL KICKOFF CALL AND A VIRTUAL DAY OF ACTION IN WHICH ADVOCATES CALLED, EMAILED, AND TWEETED AT THEIR ELECTED OFFICIALS. WE SHARED RECORDED Q&A'S WITH REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS AND GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING EXPERTS, AND OUR STAFF SHARED A RECORDED HOW TO LOBBY TRAINING. OUR GROUP MET WITH 23 HOUSE AND SENATE OFFICES IN OUR TARGET STATES TO ADVOCATE FOR A GREATER U.S. INVESTMENT IN INTERNATIONAL FAMILY PLANNING, SUPPORT FOR UNFPA, AND A PERMANENT LEGISLATIVE BAN ON THE GLOBAL GAG RULE. WE HOSTED A TWITTER RALLY FOCUSED ON WHY WE #FIGHT4HER, WHICH OVER 2,000 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN, WHICH HAD OVER 14,000 ENGAGEMENTS, AND REACHED OVER 9.2 MILLION PEOPLE. WE RAN OUR SECOND ANNUAL SUMMER OF HER (HEALTH, EMPOWERMENT, AND RIGHTS) PROGRAM-AND THE FIRST ALL VIRTUAL SUMMER OF HER-IN WHICH WE TRAINED ACTIVISTS ON KEY GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING SKILLS AND ABOUT INTERNATIONAL FAMILY PLANNING ISSUES.THIS PROGRAM CULMINATED IN SUMMITS IN WHICH WE ENGAGED 422 ADVOCATES IN TWO HALF DAY SUMMITS-ONE ON EACH COAST- AND A TWITTER RALLY. ELECTED OFFICIALS SPOKE TO OUR ACTIVISTS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF TAKING ACTION FOR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS, AND BEING ENGAGED IN THE 2020 GENERAL ELECTION TO MAKE CHANGE. WE ALSO ENGAGED MANY PEOPLE IN A TWITTER RALLY FOCUSED ON BEING A "#FIGHT4HER VOTER". DURING THE RALLY, OUR #FIGHT4HER HASHTAG TRENDED, AND VIDEOS CREATED BY OUR CONGRESSIONAL CHAMPIONS, TOP VOLUNTEERS, AND #FIGHT4HER FELLOWS RESULTED IN 954,806 IMPRESSIONS AND 2,741 ENGAGEMENTS.THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS OF THE YEAR WERE DEVOTED TO GETTING OUT THE VOTE FOR POPULATION CONNECTION ACTION FUND'S ENDORSED CANDIDATES THROUGH PHONE AND TEXT BANKING. FROM SEPTEMBER THROUGH THE GENERAL ELECTION IN EARLY NOVEMBER, WE RECRUITED 564 VOLUNTEERS, WHO COMPLETED OVER 3,000 HOURS OF GOTV, AND HAD CONVERSATIONS WITH 30,431 VOTERS.IN DECEMBER, WE SUPPORTED JON OSSOFF AND RAPHAEL WARNOCK'S CAMPAIGNS FOR U.S. SENATE BY RUNNING PHONEBANKS TO VOTERS IN GEORGIA. WE HAD 101 VOLUNTEERS MAKE 9,986 CALLS TO SPEAK WITH 1,004 VOTERS.IN DECEMBER, WE ALSO ASKED OUR SUPPORTERS TO SUBMIT COMMENTS IN OPPOSITION TO THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION'S PROPOSED EXPANSION OF THE GLOBAL GAG RULE. 499 PEOPLE SUBMITTED COMMENTS OPPOSING THIS EXPANSION.

COMMUNICATIONS: OUR COMMUNICATIONS EFFORTS RESULTED IN NEWS STORIES, OP-ED ARTICLES, EDITORIALS AND LETTERS IN PUBLICATIONS INCLUDING THE NEW YORK TIMES AND THE WASHINGTON POST. OUR STAFF, ORGANIZERS AND VOLUNTEERS HAD DOZENS OF LETTERS AND OP-ED ARTICLES PUBLISHED IN STATE AND LOCAL NEWSPAPERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. WE PUBLISHED 40 BLOG POSTS ON THE POPULATION CONNECTION ACTION FUND WEBSITE, ALONG WITH 41 PRESS RELEASES. OUR SOCIAL MEDIA OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT ON FACEBOOK, TWITTER, AND INSTAGRAM ALLOWED US TO CONNECT WITH SUPPORTERS AND WITH MEMBERS OF CONGRESS AND THE MEDIA. IN ADDITION, WE PUBLISHED OUR ANNUAL CONGRESSIONAL REPORT CARD, SHARING THE VOTING RECORDS OF EVERY MEMBER OF CONGRESS ON KEY POPULATION AND FAMILY PLANNING VOTES WITH OUR MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS: WE WORKED TO PROMOTE THE GLOBAL HEALTH, EMPOWERMENT AND RIGHTS (HER) ACT TO REPEAL THE GLOBAL GAG RULE IMPOSED BY THE PRESIDENT ON INTERNATIONAL HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS. WE WORKED TO RESTORE AID TO THE UNITED NATIONS POPULATION FUND (UNFPA). WE WORKED TO PREVENT MAJOR FUNDING CUTS TO GLOBAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING PROGRAMS. WE SUPPORTED LEGISLATION TO PROTECT AMERICAN WOMEN'S ACCESS TO REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE, INCLUDING SAFE ABORTION. WE WORKED TO DEFEAT UNQUALIFIED AND HARMFUL NOMINEES TO HEAD FEDERAL AGENCIES AND SIT ON FEDERAL COURTS. WE WORKED TO EDUCATE CANDIDATES FOR FEDERAL OFFICE ON THE NEED FOR REAL INVESTMENT IN COMPREHENSIVE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND AROUND THE WORLD. WE WORKED TO EDUCATE FEDERAL LEGISLATORS ABOUT THE HARMS OF THE HELMS AMENDMENT AND ADVOCATED FOR ITS REPEAL.
