PUBLIC OUTREACH:PRESIDENT LINCOLN'S COTTAGE WORKS TO CONNECT THE GENERAL PUBLIC WITH THE AUTHENTIC HISTORIC PLACE, THE LEGACY OF WHAT LINCOLN ACCOMPLISHED WHILE IN RESIDENCE, AND NEW PERSPECTIVES ON LINCOLN'S PUBLIC AND PRIVATE LIFE. PLC DOES THIS THOUGH A WIDE VARIETY OF COMPELLING PROGRAMS, COLLECTIONS, AND EVENTS. THIS INCLUDES (A) OFFERING SIGNATURE, GUIDED EDUCATIONAL TOURS OF PRESIDENT LINCOLN'S COTTAGE AND SELF-GUIDED EXHIBITS DISPLAYING INFORMATION AND MUSEUM COLLECTIONS YEAR-ROUND TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC; (B) ORGANIZING SPECIALTY PROGRAMS EACH YEAR INCLUDING "COTTAGE CONVERSATIONS," "Q&ABE PODCAST," THE "LINCOLN IDEAS FORUM, AND "STUDENTS OPPOSING SLAVERY INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT," WHICH COLLECTIVELY IMPART IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF (SEE SCH. O) RELATED TOPICS. (C) HOSTING A VARIETY OF RESPONSIVE PUBLIC PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO BEST SERVE THE COMMUNITY; AND (D) ORGANIZING ONLINE AND DIGITAL PROGRAMMING AND ON-SITE, HANDS-ON, HUMANITIES-BASED SCHOOL PROGRAMS TIED DIRECTLY TO PRESIDENT LINCOLN'S LEADERSHIP AS PRESIDENT AND COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF DURING THE CIVIL WAR, ESPECIALLY INCLUDING HIS EVOLVING IDEAS AND ACTIONS TAKEN AGAINST SLAVERY, INCLUDING THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION.
