Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE MISSION OF THE PROJECT IS TO ADVANCE THE ABILITY OF EVERY WOMAN OF ANY AGE TO ACHIEVE FULL REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM WITH ACCESS TO THE SAFEST, MOST EFFECTIVE, APPROPIATE AND ACCEPTABLE TECHNOLOGIES FOR ENSURING HER OWN AND CONTROLLING HER FERTILITY. TO FULFILL THIS MISSION, WE SEEK TO BUILD CONSENSUS IN SUPPORT OF AN EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY AGENDA FOR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM. WE SEEK CONSENSUS THROUGH A PROCESS OF DIALOGUE AMONG DIVERSE COMMUNITIES ABOUT TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS AND THEIR GLOBAL IMPLICATIONS.
ABORTION TECHNOLOGIES: THE PROJECT WORKS TO ENSURE THAT ADVANCES IN THE AVAILABILITY OF ABORTION TECHNOLOGIES IN THE U.S. ARE NOT JEOPARDIZED, BUT EXPANDED UPON. THE PROJECT DEVELOPS STRATEGIES FOR THE CONTINUED RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING OF METHODS OF PREGNANCY TERMINATION BY CONDUCTING POLICY ANALYSIS AND CONVENING TASK FORCES INVOLVING PROVIDERS, MANUFACTURERS AND ADVOCATES. THE PROJECT IS ALSO INVOLVED IN PROMOTING A POLITICALLY PERSUASIVE MESSAGING FRAME THAT WILL ATTRACT AND ACTIVATE NEW SUPPORTERS AND RESULT IN BETTER REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND PARENTING OPTIONS FOR WOMEN, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THEIR COMMUNITIES.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS: THE PROJECT WORKS TO ENSURE WOMEN HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT AND ACCESS TO SAFE, EFFECTIVE, WOMEN-CONTROLLED METHODS FOR PROMOTING THEIR REPRODUCTIVE AND SEXUAL HEALTH, BECOMING PREGNANT WHEN DESIRED, AND PROTECTING THEM AGAINST SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS. THE PROJECT ALSO SEEKS TO BUILD GREATER PUBLIC AWARENESS OF AND POLITICAL COMMITMENT TO DOCUMENTING THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN EXPOSURES TO ENVIRONMENTAL TOXINS AND A RANGE OF POOR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH OUTCOMES AND WHERE POSSIBLE TO LIMITING THOSE EXPOSURES.
CONTRACEPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES: THE PROJECT SEEKS TO IMPROVE THE CLIMATE FOR RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH TECHNOLOGIES SO WOMEN AND MEN HAVE INCREASED ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGIES THAT CAN HELP PREVENT UNINTENDED PREGNANCY. THE PROJECT MONITORS THE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PIPELINE IN BOTH THE PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTOR; TRANSLATES NEW RESEARCH FINDINGS FOR CLINICAL OR POLICY APPLICATIONS; AND ADVOCATES FOR MORE RESOURCES FOR RESEARCH AND ACCESS TO PREVENTION SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGIES. IN ADDITION, THE PROJECT WORKS TO ENSURE THE INTEGRITY AND INDEPENDENCE OF THE U.S. NATIONAL SYSTEM OF SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY COMMITTEES AND PEER-REVIEW STUDY SECTIONS WHICH INFORM FEDERAL POLICY AND/OR GUIDE FEDERALLY FUNDED RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT.
