SERVICE YEAR ALLIANCE IS AN ORGANIZATION RELENTLESSLY PURSUING A BOLD VISION MAKING A YEAR OF SERVICE A COMMON EXPECTATION AND OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL YOUNG AMERICANS AS A WAY TO TACKLE IMPORTANT CHALLENGES WHILE TRANSFORMING THEIR OWN LIVES.
WE WORK TO MAKE A SERVICE YEAR A COMMON EXPECTATION & OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL YOUNG AMERICANS.
NATIONAL RECRUITMENT, AWARENESS, AND CORPS MEMBER SUPPORT: INSPIRE A GENERATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE TO DO A SERVICE YEAR AND REWARD THEIR SERVICE. IN 2018 WE EXPANDED OUR 'MY OFFICE' RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN BY CONTINUING OUR DIGITAL ADVERTISING EFFORTS ON A NATIONAL LEVEL, WHILE WORKING WITH COMMISSION AND PROGRAMS TO UTILIZE THE CONCEPT AND MESSAGING ON A LOCAL LEVEL.
SERVICE YEAR EXCHANGE: BUILD A STATE-OF-THE-ART ONLINE MARKETPLACE AND RESOURCE HUB, TO MATCH YOUNG PEOPLE INTERESTED IN SERVICE WITH SERVICE YEAR OPPORTUNITIES. THE SERVICE YEAR EXCHANGE REGISTERED OVER 77,000 NEW USERS AND EXPANDED THE NUMBER OF HOST ORGANIZATIONS RECRUITING ON THE PLATFORM.
GROW SERVICE YEAR PROGRAMS: GROW EXISTING SERVICE YEAR PROGRAMS AND HELP CREATE NEW ONES, FOCUSING ON SPECIFIC ISSUES AND PLACES. SERVICE YEAR ALLIANCE IS ONLY FOCUSED ON GROWTH THAT DELIVERS A TWO-FOLD IMPACT: MEASURABLY ADDRESSING DEFINED NEEDS IN COMMUNITIES AND CHANGING THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO SERVE. WE ARE DOING THIS BY PURSUING GROWTH IN SPECIFIC AREAS TO ADDRESS SPECIFIC CHALLENGES; DEVELOPING ISSUE-AREA GROWTH COHORTS; AND EDUCATING POLICY-MAKERS ABOUT DEFINED CHALLENGES. IN 2018, THE GROWTH TEAM WORKED WITH A NUMBER OF COMMUNITIES COMMITTED TO SCALE TO BUILD SERVICE YEAR PLANS, WE PARTNERED WITH 9 OF THE NATION'S LARGEST SERVICE YEAR PROGRAMS TO EXECUTE JOINT STRATEGIES TO ADVANCE GOALS FOCUSED ON ENHANCING PROGRAM QUALITY AND/OR IMPACT, CREATED TEMPLATES AND DOCUMENTS TO HELP SUPPORT THE SECTOR, DESIGNED AND EXECUTED A SERIES OF TRAININGS AND CONVENINGS THAT BROUGHT TOGETHER DOZENS OF DIVERSE ORGANIZATIONS TO DISCUSS STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE AND/OR GROW THEIR PROGRAMS.
