Organizations Filed Purposes: The principal trade association for the software and digital content industry.Long Mission:To represent the common business and public policy interests of the computer software and digital content industries. The industry markets its products through several delivery vehicles, including the internet, private and public networks, cable, wireless, and satellite transmission. The industry operates in a borderless world and therefore must serve an international constituency. The code and content industry segments share public policy objectives in strong intellectual property protection, a favorable tax and electronic commerce environment, and a favorable investment climate. Specifically, SIIA seeks to serve businesses that develop or market the following:- Technology that enables the learning process or provides instructional content in digitial form- Software applications and services for horizontal and vertical markets

Divisions and Special Interest Groups: The Association sponsors divisions and special interest groups to focus on particular areas of interest for members, providing the opportunity to meet and network with professionals in the education technology, financial information services, online content and software industries. The divisions and special interest groups sponsor targeted conference sessions, publish reports and white papers, and conduct special projects.

Conferences: The Association sponsors several annual or biennial conferences that are among the largest and most comprehensive meetings in their industries. Conferences offer outstanding educational opportunities, keynotes and networking events.

Government Affairs: As a strong voice for the education technology, financial information services, online content and software industries on Capitol Hill, in state legislatures, and throughout the world, the Association provides member companies with access to lawmakers and a voice in developing the Association's legislative agenda, including policies on intellectual property protection, encryption, online privacy, electronic commerce, taxation and education technology.
