TRAVELERS AID INTERNATIONAL EXISTS TO ENSURE THAT PEOPLE IN TRANSIT RECEIVE ASSISTANCE WHEN AND WHERE IT IS NEEDED IN COMMUNITIES AND TRAVEL HUBS. OUR GOAL HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO PROVIDE A NATIONWIDE CONTINUUM OF SERVICES, CONNECTED ACROSS COMMUNITIES, FROM CRISIS INTERVENTION THROUGH TRANSITIONAL SERVICES, THAT PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES TO ACHIEVE THEIR HIGHEST POSSIBLE LEVEL OF SELF-SUFFICIENCY. TRAVELERS AID MEMBERS EMBRACE A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO FACILITATE TRANSPORTATION AND PREVENT HOMELESSNESS THAT FOCUSES ON THE INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS OF EACH CASE IN ORDER TO PROVIDE SERVICES THAT MEET SPECIFIC NEEDS. SOME AGENCIES OFFER SERVICES SPECIFICALLY TAILORED FOR VETERANS, SENIOR CITIZENS OR FAMILIES, INCLUDING A RANGE OF HOUSING OPTIONS, JOB TRAINING AND FOOD ASSISTANCE. TRAVELERS AID FUNDING, SERVICES AND HOURS VARY, AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BASED ON AVAILABLE FUNDING, ELIGIBILITY AND LOCATION.
PROVIDE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER; ORGANIZE AND PRESENT BI-MONTHLY EDUCATIONAL WEBINARS; SPONSOR AN ANNUAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE; MAINTAIN AND UPDATE A WEBSITE AS AN INFORMATION RESOURCE AND NETWORKING EXCHANGE; INCREASE THE OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS OF COMMUNITY-BASED HUMAN SERVICES ORGANIZATIONS, RESULTING IN IMPROVED MEASURABLE OUTCOMES; IN A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT, MEET AND GREET INDIVIDUALS ARRIVING INTO THE U.S. AND OFFER ANY TRAVEL ASSISTANCE NEEDED; INCREASE THE OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS OF COMMUNITY-BASED HUMAN SERVICES ORGANIZATIONS, RESULTING IN IMPROVED MEASURABLE OUTCOMES; SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTEGRATED SUPPORT SYSTEMS THAT SUCCESSFULLY CONNECT INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN TRANSITION TO THEIR COMMUNITIES; CONVERT THE FRONT-LINE EXPERIENCE OF LOCAL AGENCIES WITH EMERGING NEEDS INTO EFFECTIVE ADVOCACY FOR SYSTEMIC CHANGE AT ALL LEVELS OF SOCIETY; BUILD A PUBLIC VOICE FOR DISCONNECTED PEOPLE, TO ADVANCE THE RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN TRANSITION.
