Organizations Filed Purposes: AS THE LEADING NONPROFIT, NONPARTISAN PHILANTHROPIC PARTNER OF THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE DEDICATED TO RESTORING, ENRICHING AND PRESERVING THE NATIONAL MALL, THE TRUST BRINGS EXPERTISE, PRIVATE FUNDING AND IN-KIND SUPPORT TO TIME-SENSITIVE RESTORATION AND SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS, MOBILIZES VOLUNTEERS AND PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO ENSURE THAT THE NATIONAL MALL ENDURES AND EVOLVES AS A VIBRANT SPACE FOR ALL. WITH OVER 36 MILLION VISITS ANNUALLY TO THE NATIONAL MALL, COMBINED WITH AGING INFRASTRUCTURE AND THE NEED FOR BETTER VISITOR AMENITIES THROUGHOUT THE PARK, THE TRUST IS HELPING THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE TACKLE THE MORE THAN $800 MILLION NEEDED FOR CRITICAL REPAIRS AND MODERNIZED IMPROVEMENTS.

RESTORATION AND SUSTAINABILITY CONSISTS OF ACTIVITIES TO BRING PRIVATE FUNDING AND IN-KIND SUPPORT, EXPERTISE AND ACTIVE PROJECT MANAGEMENT TO SELECT MONUMENTS, MEMORIALS, HISTORIC FACILITIES AND LANDSCAPES ON THE NATIONAL MALL. IN 2019, THE TRUST CONTINUED WORK ON THE GEORGE MASON MEMORIAL, THE LOCKKEEPER'S HOUSE, THE GERMAN-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP GARDEN, THE TIDAL BASIN IDEAS LAB, THE CHERRY TREE ENDOWMENT, AND THE U.S. PARK POLICE HORSE STABLES RESTORATION PROJECT. ACTIVITIES ALSO INCLUDED A SITE ON THE GROUNDS OF PRESIDENT'S PARK.

PUBLIC AWARENESS, ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION CONSISTS OF PARTNERSHIPS AND ACTIVITIES TO CONNECT VISITORS TO THE NATIONAL MALL'S RICH HISTORY, DEVELOPING ENGAGING PROGRAMS, VOLUNTEER INITIATIVES, AND EVENTS THAT WILL EDUCATE AND INSPIRE CURRENT AND FUTURE STEWARDS OF THE NATIONAL MALL. IN 2019, THE TRUST BEGAN DEVELOPMENT TO ENHANCE THE VOLUNTEER-IN-PARKS PROGRAM AND DESIGNED A PILOT EDUCATIONAL ENGAGMENT PROGRAM TITLED, MARCH ON: THE ROLE OF FREE SPEECH ON THE NATIONAL MALL.

PARTNERSHIP SUPPORT CONSISTS OF DIRECT ACTIVITIES WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE TO COLLABORATE AND COORDINATE INITIATIVES THAT BENEFIT OUR PARTNERSHIP, INCLUDING THE REGULAR CONVENING AND NETWORKING OF OTHER NON-PROFIT PARTNERS SUPPORTING SITES ON AND ADJACENT TO THE NATIONAL MALL. IN 2019, THE TRUST PARTICIPATED IN CONVENINGS WITH PARK LEADERS NATIONALLY, SERVED ON A NATIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE, COORDINATED BRIEFINGS AND PLANNING SESSIONS WITH AND FOR OUR PARTNER AT THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, AND CONVENED LOCAL PARTNERS SUPPORTING THE NATIONAL MALL BY CONTINING OUR THREE TIMES A YEAR PLANNING AND NETWORKING MEETINGS.
