WASHINGTON GLOBAL IS A TUITION-FREE MIDDLE SCHOOL OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS IN WASHINGTON, DC. WASHINGTON GLOBAL OFFERS A ROBUST INTERNATIONAL AND RESEARCH-BASED ACADEMIC PROGRAM TO DEVELOP GLOBALLY COMPETITIVE STUDENTS WHO ARE READY FOR COLLEGE AND CAREERS. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES PROJECT-BASED LEARNING, SMALL LEARNING COMMUNITIES, TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTION, ARTS, AND FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES IN SPANISH AND KOREAN. WASHINGTON GLOBAL'S CORNERSTONE PROGRAM IS THE INTERNATIONAL MIDDLE YEARS CURRICULUM ("IMYC") THAT IS USED IN MIDDLE SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. THE IMYC OFFERS INTERACTIVE, STIMULATING, REAL-WORLD, PROJECT BASED LEARNING DELIVERED THROUGH THEMATIC UNITS SUCH AS RESILIENCE, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AND CREATIVITY. THESE THEMES ARE WOVEN INTO THE STUDENTS' ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS ("ELA"), MATH, SCIENCE, AND SOCIAL STUDIES COURSES WHERE THEY ARE WORKING TOWARDS MASTERING THE COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS ("CCSS"). THE IMYC ALSO PROVIDES THE FRAMEWORK FOR THESE THEMES TO SUPPORT ART, INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY ("ICT"), AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULA.
