The mission of XBRL US Inc the Organization is to support the implementation of XBRL eXtensible Business Reporting Language in the
I. Taxonomy Development and Technical Consultation - Subject matter expertise and support resources for development of XBRL taxonomies by regulatory bodies and/or industry working groups. Includes assessment, prototyping, iterative development and review and open-source software development supporting the XBRL specification and its implementation in the United States.
II. Adoption and Communications Programs involve marketing and publicity to 1) support specific initiatives such as taxonomy development, training and educational programs events, tools and services, and 2) general identity marketing to brand the Organization, build awareness and ensure consistency in its message. Activities include media relations, association partnerships, participation in trade shows, development of events and monitoring of industry and regulatory activities.
III. Center for Data Quality Initiative funded by a group of XBRL US, Inc. members to support improved usability of XBRL data and address the public's concerns about the quality of XBRL financial data filed with the SEC. The Data Quality Committee of the Center develops rules and guidance that public companies can use to prevent inconsistencies or errors in XBRL submissions to the SEC.
