Organizations Filed Purposes: TO PROMOTE THE WELFARE OF YALE UNIVERSITY, TO SPREAD ITS INFLUENCE, AND TO UPHOLD ITS TRADITION OF SERVICE IN PRIVATE AND GOVERNMENTAL SPHERES OF ACTIVITY.TO BRING A KNOWLEDGE OF YALE TO POTENTIAL COLLEGE STUDENTS IN THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA, TO FOSTER A DESIRE IN THEM TO ATTEND YALE, TO ASSIST THE UNIVERSITY IN SELECTING THOSE TO BE ADMITTED FROM THIS AREA, AND TO ASSIST DESERVING STUDENTS BY PROVIDING A FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. TO PROVIDE YALE ALUMNI IN THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA WITH A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL, RECREATIONAL, AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS AND TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO MEET TOGETHER TO RECONNECT AND TO PARTICIPATE IN CARRYING OUT THE PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES OF THE CLUB.TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH THE CLUB'S SOCIAL SERVICES OFFERINGS FOR ALUMNI TO SERVE THOSE IN NEED IN THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA.TO PROMOTE CLOSER LIAISON BETWEEN YALE UNIVERSITY AND ITS STUDENTS AND GRADUATES WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF YALE ALUMNI AND FAMILIES, LOCATED IN THE GREATER WASHINGTON DC AREA. TO RAISE AWARENESS OF YALE UNIVERSITY AS AN OPTION FOR COLLEGE-BOUND STUDENTS WITHIN OUR SERVICE AREA, ESPECIALLY STUDENTS FROM UNDERREPRESENTED HIGH SCHOOLS. MEMBERSHIP IS OPEN TO ALL GRADUATES OF YALE UNIVERSITY, SURVIVING SPOUSES OF YALE GRADUATES, TEACHERS AT YALE, PARENTS OF YALE STUDENTS, AND PARENTS OF YALE GRADUATES.

PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL, AND ATHLETIC PROGRAMS IN THE GREATER WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA, INCLUDING LECTURES, SEMINARS, CULTURAL EVENTS, GUIDED TOURS, COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND SPORTING EVENTS INVOLVING OVER 1,000 PERSONS.

PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL TOUR OF CIVIL WAR BATTLEFIELDS FOR REGIONAL AND NATIONAL ALUMNI

THE YALE ALUMNI COMMUNITY SERVICE FELLOWSHIP (YACSF) PROGRAM IS AN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM THAT PLACES STUDENTS IN PAID EIGHT-WEEK COMMUNITY SERVICE POSITIONS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. THE PROGRAM WAS INITIATED BY YALE IN 1989 AND ALLOWS STUDENTS TO WORK IN SUBSTANTIVE POSITIONS WITHIN NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. THE PROGRAM HAS A CLOSE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LOCAL YALE ALUMNI CLUBS WHO SUPPORT THE POSITIONS IN THEIR PARTICULAR LOCATION. THE YALE CLUB OF DC SPONSORED TWO COMMUNITY SERVICE FELLOWS IN FY19. EACH FELLOW RECEIVED A STIPEND OF $3,200. THE YALE CLUB OF DC PAYS YALE DIRECTLY FOR THIS PROGRAM AND YALE PAYS THE STUDENTS.
