PLANNED PETHOOD OF GEORGIA BEGAN PERFORMING MEDICAL SERVICES UNDER CONTRACT FOR GWINNETT COUNTY ANIMAL WELFARE AND ENFORCEMENT. THIS CONTRACT ENSURES A FULL-TIME VETERINARY TEAM IS INSIDE THE COUNTY SHELTER SIX DAYS A WEEK PROVIDING MEDICAL SERVICES FOR THE ANIMALS IN THE COUNTY'S CARE. PLANNED PETHOOD'S VETERINARY TEAM HANDLES IN-HOUSE EVALUATIONS AND TREATMENTS INCLUDING SPAY/NEUTER. SERVICES INCLUDE TREATMENTS FOR ILLNESSES AND INJURIES, ROUTINE WELLNESS CARE, TESTING AND VACCINATIONS, AND HEARTWORM TREATMENTS. WITH THIS TEAM IN PLACE, HEALTHY ANIMALS ARE VETTED AND STERILIZED BEFORE ADOPTION, ALLOWING ADOPTERS THE ABILITY TO ADOPT SOME ANIMALS THE SAME DAY.
