Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the society is to promote advances in the field of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery through scientific inquiry and the free exchange of information.
ASSFN held its biannual event on May 30 to June 2, 2019. The event took place in Cleveland, Oh. The scientific organization committee planned plenary sessions as well as break out sessions covering main topics in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery such as surgery and signal processing for epilepsy,ablative and neuromodulatory procedures for Parkinsons disease and other movement disorders, management of chronic pain, surgical treatment of psychiatric disorders. There were sessions covering preclinical and basic research as well as lectures on clinical research. This event was attended by professionals with an interest in the field of SFN to support the mission of the society. Within the 290,202 is charitable contributions made to CNS foundation for 100,000 NREF foundation for 50,000. These charitable contributions are for promoting the education of the next generation of neurosurgeons.
