The mission of the Atlanta Pride Committee is to advance unity, visibility, and wellness among persons with widely diverse gender and sexual identities through cultural, social, political and educational programs activities.
Atlanta Pride experienced significant growth again in 2019 with the organization's highest revenues and attendance, exceeding performance for the fourth year in a row. More than 350,000 people attended more than 90 public events, anchored by the 49th annual Atlanta Pride Celebration in October. The Celebration featured three stages of entertainment, an expanded marketplace, and a televised parade. The Celebration is free to attend and was supported by the organization's growing roster of sponsors and donors. In 2019, APC also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprisings with ten events in June, concluding in the organization's inaugural Stonewall March. APC welcomed more diversity in the organization's membership and programming with an increase in social justice programming and efforts to increase engagement and inclusion from under-represented populations per our strategic plan. In 2019, Atlanta Pride also expanded our community reinvestment program by more than 40% giving over $100,000 in support to groups whose missions align with Atlanta Pride and the communities we serve.
