THE MISSION OF THE ATLANTA WOMEN'S FOUNDATION IS TO BE A CATALYST FOR CHANGE IN THE LIVES OF WOMEN AND GIRLS.
Womens Pathway to Success Program: The AWFs Womens Pathway to Success Program will be transformative, resulting in job creation, reduction in poverty, and eliminating barriers to employment for women in metro Atlanta. Investing in women achieves lasting returns for families, communities and nations. This program will impact a minimum of 18,000 women over 5-years. AWF will award $2,300,000 over 5-years to ten local nonprofit organizations providing workforce development and job placement programs to low income women in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties. All of the nonprofits selected for this initiative must provide wrap-around services for their clients, which is a proven and effective strategy to combat multiple interrelated issues, thereby eliminating additional barriers to employment.
AWF COVID-19 Grantee Partner Emergency FundThe Atlanta Womens Foundation created the COVID-19 Grantee Partner Emergency Fund, an emergency fund for our grantee partners. As we continue to learn more on the immediate and extended needs that women and girls serving nonprofits in our community are facing, we will use these funds to support our grantee partners, help achieve the greatest impact, and address the greatest needs. AWF awarded a total of $120,000.00 to 6 organizations through AWFs COVID-19 Grantee Partner Emergency Relief Fund.
Sue Wieland Embracing Possibibility Award: $20K funds from Wieland endowment and from John Wieland personal gift, The Wieland Endowment, was established by the generosity of John and Sue Wieland. The Sue Wieland Embracing Possibility Award is given annually to a past or current AWF grantee organization and an individual woman or girl based on the organizations work with that individual, which has resulted in significant change in her life over the past few years.
