Organizations Filed Purposes:
In 2020, Blueprint 58 both continued and expanded their regular programming, while also shifting and postponing some of their programming as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Blueprint 58 programming includes Community Building, Mentoring, For Mothers Only (FMO), Sports, and Personal Development programs. Blueprint 58 expanded in 2020 by adding a new basketball team, and creating two new community small groups to its Personal Development programming, growing their partnerships with Carver High School and Gedeons elementary school. Blueprint 58 pivoted to meet the needs of their community during Covid-19 pandemic by partnering with various other organizations (including Redeemer food pantry, Adair Park Today, Pittsburgh Collaborative, and Stewart Center to provide food and other necessities for their neighbors). They provided rent and utility relief for 5 families, and offered grocery gift cards and food support for over 75 community members. They partnered with the Adair Park Senior network to offer grocery delivery services to several families in the neighborhood. Last year, Blueprint 58 continued their girls small group, boys high school group, and a Carver lunch and learn group. Until the pandemic in March, these groups were held in-person at least once a month and discussed life topics including relationships, regulating emotions, life goals, and character development. After schools went virtual, the Carver lunch-and-learn group was put on hold, but the other groups continued to meet regularly via zoom and facetime meet-ups. Blueprint 58s Sports Prgram formed and coached a boys basketball team to play in a local league in January. Their annual flag football league in the spring was cancelled due to Covid-19. Blueprint 58s Mentoring Program recruited and trained 22 new mentors in 2020 and 5 new students. They hosted 2 mentor events, and matched 2 new mentor pairs. Mentors continued meeting with their students via facetime or zoom, or via outdoor socially-distanced events when possible and safe to do so. In 2020, Blueprint 58s regular summer programming was cancelled due to Covid-19. Instead, Blueprint 58 provided 30 summer activity bags for students involved in our programming who were unable to attend summer camp. Blueprint 58s Community Building programming hosted a community cookout (offering to-go plates with Covid-19 protocols in place), as a community building kick-off event in partnership with Pencor construction. They also served 150 mentors, students, families, and neighbors at their annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner, done as to-go dinners in partnership with Refuge Church in South Atlanta. They provided backpacks and school supplies for 30 teachers and 150 students. They offered computers and food support to the Stewart Centers learning labs for neighborhood students learning virtually, and gave 8 computers to the local elementary school. They also offered Christmas gifts and encouragement bags for every staff member at Gideons Elementary School and Carver high school. Blueprint 58s FMO (for moms only program) served 8 young Moms, and matched them with 2 Mentor Moms. They also hosted quarterly virtual meetings for the group. Blueprint 58 partnered with Pride for Parents to provide Christmas gifts for 8 families, and grocery gift cards at Christmas time for 3 other families as well. In 2020, Blueprint 58 offered college scholarships to two students. Lastly, in 2020, Blueprint 58 completed their capital building campaign via a virtual fundraiser in the fall, and partnered with Lord Aeck Sargent, Pencor, and Third Lens Ministries to attain approval for their building permit. They broke ground on their building and completed site work for their new community center space in Pittsburgh.
