Cool Girls, Inc.'s purpose is to empower girls from low-income communities by providing the tools to help girls make positive choices to achieve academic success, break the cycle of teen pregnancy and poverty, and to overcome the barriers of racism and sexism.
Cool Girls, Inc. is dedicated to the self-empowerment of girls in Atlanta by providing direct service to underserved youth. We provide the tools that help under-resourced and economically disadvantaged girls make positive choices to help them achieve academic success; lead healthy, active lives; break the cycles of poverty, teen pregnancy, and domestic violence; and overcome the barriers of racism and sexism. All of our award-winning programs are direct-service and are provided completely free-of-charge. COVID- 19 caused an abrupt halt to our Spring programming. However, we were still able to pull off a successful program year. During the Fall, we served 315 girls with an average weekly attendance of 210 girls. We awarded $27K in scholarships to Cool Girls alumni and 2 of our participants graduated from college. Due to COVID-19 our spring activities were cancelled including our Annual College Road Trip, A Beautiful Me and several field trips. We were able to pivot our support to families that were severely impacted by COVID-19 by providing gift cards to ensure their basic needs were met.
