In a spirit of collaboration, Georgia Humanities gathers, preserves, and shares our states distinctive stories through a range of cultural and educational programs and resources. Founded in 1971, we are the statewide affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Georgia Humanities organizes and carries out programs that take place in museums, libraries, historical societies, or other community venues. Georgia Humanities also provides programs for teachers, middle and high school students, and families. The Board and staff consult with scholars and other humanities practitioners to plan and implement these programs.
Grants are made with State of Georgia funds, according to provisions from the State and the NEH.
